FAQs
About Therapy

What is counselling? A safe place to explore personal challenges, emotional difficulties, develop healthy coping strategies and explore personal growth.

What can counselling help me with? Clients attend sessions to support with a range of issues; anxiety, stress, depression, processing difficult life events and diagnoses, such as Neurodiversity and adult adoptees. Coping with societal pressures and feelings of otherness, including all minority groups. Aging, parenting and fertility.

What is your approach to therapy? I am a trained Integrative counsellor. This means I have a core training across humanistic, CBT and psychodynamic theories. I work from a person -centred approach but draw in on different practices to individualise my approach for each client. I have a special interest in self-compassion and Autism.
How do I know if therapy is right for me? Use a free introductory session and/ or email enquiries to find out more about your therapist. You should start to feel at ease quickly and like you are being heard and understood if it is the right fit.

Will you give me advice? Advice giving comes from other helping professionals. In counselling you will have an opportunity to look at your issues from another perspective and have time to consider how you really feel about the world around you and you within it. You may be looking for more of a coaching role if this doesn’t sound quite right for you.
